Mr. Aaron Austin

Let me be one of the first to say——-  Welcome to 5th grade!!! My name is Aaron Austin and I’m excited about this year’s learning and educational growth opportunities.  I’m looking forward to meeting all of you really soon and would like to share some brief information about myself.  I am a TEXAN by all means but I was born in Wisconsin (Milwaukee) and moved to Texas before the age of 5.  I attended elementary school right here in Humble ISD (North Belt Elem.) and secondary school close by in a neighboring district (Aldine ISD).  I graduated from Chester W. Nimitz High School in 1994 and recieved my Bachelors  degree from Lamar University in Beaumont. I  continued my passion for education by receiving a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction followed by a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am married to my college sweetheart who is a middle school counselor (Timberwood MS) and we have two middle-schoolers, Laylah and Aaron II, who also attended Fall Creek during their elementary years.
Along with my commitment to being a life-long learner, I also have 13 years of teaching experience with all years, except for one year of middle school, focused on 5th grade Reading/Language Arts/Social Studies. My focus on this age group of learners comes from the importance of teaching the “whole-child”. I enjoy building strong foundations of young learners that can be molded into global thinkers with strong social experiences. Many of the lessons in my class relate to real-world experiences and engage the students to become problem solvers, critical thinkers and avid readers. I am excited about the 2019-2020 school year and I look forward to collaborating with parents to maximize each student's potential.
Again, welcome to the best grade level at the best elementary school in Humble ISD!
