	JASON 2014 Argonaut Information This year, thanks to Chevron, Humble ISD will send a student and educator Argonaut to work in the field with scientists and engineers for up to 7 days in the Summer or Fall of 2014. Commemoration at 2 p.m. Aug. 28

Humble ISD will join in a bell-ringing ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker requested that schools ring a bell for 15 seconds on August 28 at 2 p.m. This coincides with the time that Dr. King delivered his historic address in 1963. Students heard the bell from their classrooms. Bell-ringing was done in schools, churches, and other organization throughout the United States and around the world to mark the date. Dr. King used the words “let freedom ring” in his speech.
