Elementary Programs

At the elementary level, Humble ISD offers different language programs for Emergent Bilinguals . We also offer the Spanish Immersion program as a language enrichment program to native English speakers. 

Bilingual Education Programs enable Emergent Bilinguals to become competent in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English language through the development of literacy and academic skills in their primary language and English. These programs emphasize the mastery of English language skills, as well as Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies as integral parts of the academic goal for all students to enable English Learners to participate equitably in school.

English as a Second Language (ESL) enables Emergent Bilinguals to become competent in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in the English language through the integrated use of second language methods.

Spanish Immersion Program (SIP) enables native English speakers to immerse themselves in the Spanish language in the core content areas in grades 1-5.
