• Referral for Counseling Services

When concern for a student arises, a referral may be made to the school counselor for support.  Possible sources of referrals may include self-referral by students experiencing a problem, concerned peers, parent(s)/guardian(s), teachers, administrators, and/or other school personnel.  Once the concern has been identified, the school counselor will determine the level and type of measure to be taken on the student’s behalf.  Throughout the referral and progress monitoring processes, confidentiality will be addressed and respected according to the American School Counselor Association's Ethical Standards as well as family privacy as mandated by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
