Hello, Welcome to Ms. Brown's 5th grade classroom! I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year. I love teaching, but my greatest passion is my true LOVE for my students. I have taught for several years. My experience includes first, second, third, fourth and fifth grades. I have taught in Humble ISD for 30+ years and have been at Maplebrook since the doors opened. I am a native Houstonian and live in Humble now.
I attended Texas A&M University for my Bachelors in Education and Stephen F. Austin for my Masters degree. In fifth grade, This year I teach all subjects. My specialization is reading due to on-hand experience with students from six to eleven years old.
I have one son, Heath. You will also hear about my very adorable grandson, Rhett. He is 6 years old. Besides spending time with my family I enjoy gardening, decorating, and fellowship with my friends and family. My quality time with my friends and family are a huge part of my life, and I also love spending time planning to meet the needs of each of my individual students. My classroom is extremely homey and a reflection of the warmth I share with my students. I form relationships with my students by sharing my life with them. I am extremely proud that I've had the pleasure of being a part of so many Maplebrook families. It brings joy to my heart when I hear from past students about what they remember about our connection as well as what they are doing now!
I'm looking forward to making new connections with my current students in an exciting and challenging year of fifth grade. It is my goal to meet each child's individual needs academically and personally as well as to prepare them for what lies ahead in their middle school life!
Parents, it is my honor to teach your child and I welcome you to contact me with any questions and concerns.
