Introducing... Mrs. McGuffey
My name is Margie McGuffey. I grew up and spent most of my life in the western suburbs of Chicago. I have lived in Kingwood since moving to Texas in 2000. I love to garden and read, and I am a passionate conservationist. I have been married 28 years and live with my husband, 3 children and yellow Lab. My oldest child, Nora graduated from Texas A&M and is in her final year of law school. My son, Alex, is in his 4th year at Univ. of Houston studying mechanical engineering in the honor's college. My youngest, Amy, is a junior at KPHS. I am a Girl Scout leader and volunteered much time helping my son's Boy Scout troop.
I received a BS degree in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University and an MS degree from Northern Illinois University. My first 20 years of teaching were spent in the Naperville CUSD 203 in Illinois where I taught self contained 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. After staying home with my children for 10 years, I embarked on a "second life" in teaching This is my tenth year in Humble ISD and my seventh teaching kindergarten. I am very grateful to be teaching here at Woodland Hills Elementary!
