Groups are a fun and interactive way for students to learn and grow their social and emotional skills. I have multiple groups going at a time and throughout the year. If you think your student could benefit from any of the following groups, please complete the Group Sign Up sheet at the link below. All submissions go straight to my e-mail and no one else has access or can view them. I look forward to working with your students!
We will be focusing our groups this year around our District's Great 8 Skills for Daily Living. We will be focusing on four of the skills this school year, one per nine weeks, and I will be leading different groups each month that go along with the trait we are working on.
Great 8 Skills for 2022-2023 School Year: Decision Making, Personal Responsibility. Self-Awareness, Social Awareness
Groups being offered for the 2022-2023 school year:
Self-Control--This group is perfect for younger students who struggle with impulse control and self-control.
Friendship--This group covers key friendship social skills such as the qualities of a good friend, making and keeping friends, conflict resolution and more!
Grief--Students will reflect on their different feelings of grief, identify their support system, and plan for a hopeful future.
Growth Mind Set-- Students will learn how their brain is like a muscle, how they can learn from mistakes, and why challenges are beneficial.
Dealing with Anger-- Students will learn how to identify triggers, predict consequences, identify calm down strategies and more!
Self-Esteem--Group members will practice self-reflection, communication, goal setting and more with each week's self-esteem building activities.
Social Skills-- This helps students learn the crucial skills needed for better relationships with others both inside and outside of the classroom.
Resiliency- This is a great resource for our 3rd grade and up students who are easily frustrated and tend to give up.
GT Student Group--This focuses on helping gifted and talented students cope with high expectations, perfectionism, labels, bullying, friendships, and more.

Again, I will be holding groups throughout the year at different times and for different grades. If you think one of the groups might be beneficial for your student(s), please let me know. I will respond to your submission and let you know a time frame of when I will be holding that group, as well as sending you a permission slip. All group members must have a signed permission slip and the student must agree to participate as well.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and contact me.
