Hi!  My name is Lisa Cruz.  I am a first grade teacher at Maplebrook Elementary.  I have been teaching for 23 years.  I have been teaching first grade for six years now.    I LOVE my first graders!  I can’t wait for the 2019-20 year to get started.

I am also a mom and a wife.  I married my husband, Mike, 28 years ago.  We have three amazing children.  Austin is my oldest.  He is beginning graduate school at the University of Texas in Austin this year.  Alex, my daughter, is working with a missionary family in Uganda, Africa by homeschooling four of their children.  She graduated from Texas State University in 2018.  Dalton, my youngest, is in the United States Air Force.  He is stationed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I  grew up in Gonzales, Texas, and then went to the University of Texas in Austin to get my teaching degree.  I graduated in 1991.  My husband also graduated from UT.  We are huge fans, of course.  Austin is now a third generation UT graduate in our family.  

I am very excited about teaching first grade again and meeting my new friends!
