• Mr. Kaciuba
     
    Mr. Kaciuba was born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois.  His primary instrument is the clarinet, which he began playing at the age of nine in fourth grade.  Mr. Kaciuba attended St. Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago where he realized his true love and potential for music.  Mr. Kaciuba's band director was his main inspiration and was a driving force during his high school years.  
     
    After high school, Mr. Kaciuba attended DePaul University for two years in Chicago, Illinois and was a part of the prestigious music conservatory where he studied with John Bruce Yeh, the second chair of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  In 2005, he transferred to Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois so he could further develop as a music educator.  Mr. Kaciuba was the principal clarinetist of the Augustana Symphony Orchestra for two years and was the principal Eb clarinet player in the Augustana Symphonic Band, which toured across the United States and the United Kingdom.  Mr. Kaciuba played with the Oxford University Wind Orchestra in Oxford, England in the Spring of 2007.  At Augustana College, Mr. Kaciuba was consistently on the Dean's List and graduated in the winter of 2008 with a BA in Music Education.
     
     
    Mr. Kaciuba is entering his tenth year as music specialist at Lakeshore Elementary.  He was on the Humble ISD Elementary Music Curriculum Committee where he helped develop and implement a district-wide music curriculum for the elementary levels. Mr. Kaciuba was a member of the Textbook Adoption Committee where he helped review and choose a text series from several options for Humble ISD's elementary music department. This school year, the Spotted Half Notes (Lakeshore's marimba ensemble) were selected as one of eight elementary performing groups to perform at the 2019 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic & Convention. He currently lives in the Atascocita area where he enjoys writing music, baseball, cooking, and playing various computer games.  Mr. Kaciuba is married and has two children.  When he is not at Lakeshore, Mr. Kaciuba can be found in various theme parks across the United States, as he is an avid coaster enthusiast.
