The EcoBot Challenge is an opportunity for students in grades 4-8 to develop critical problem-solving skills in real-world situations that will help prepare them for 21st century jobs.Teams must integrate math, physics and computer skills from the classroom to design and build robots that perform real-world environmental tasks. The Challenge not only reinforces the skills students learn in school, it shows them how improving those skills could help them lead productive lives. The Greentree teams consist of 4-6 member teams working together on a Lego NXT Mindstorms robotics program. Each team has to design and build their own robot made up of Lego Mindstorms kits. They then learn to program their robots to do simple and complex maneuvers. Students meet each Thursday from 3:30-4:30 unless otherwise noted.
