Hours: Mon-Fri7:30 - 3:30My goal is for your child to have a happy and successful experience here at Foster. Here is a glance at the Humble ISD Elementary Counselors Role at Foster:· Individual Concerns - Sometimes student have concerns that are interfering with the ability for them to focus in the classroom. I take referrals from students, parents, teachers, and staff. Students know that they can talk to me to discuss possible solutions confidentially that will help them overcome difficulties. References for private therapists are also available if the situation requires more intensive one-on-one attention.· Classroom Guidance - Our district currently focuses on the Great 8 Skills to build the child as a whole. These skills are decision making, goal directed behavior, personal responsibility, relationship skills, self awareness, self management, social awareness, and optimistic thinking.· Small Groups - From time to time, students will meet with me in a small group setting. We will continue working on the Great 8 Skills.
Hi! My name is Anne Margaret Gomez. I am beginning my 8th year at Foster as the school counselor and my 15th year in Humble ISD. This year we have an exciting edition to my counseling program. My 8-month-old goldendoodle, Nugget, is being trained to be a Comfort Dog thanks to a grant I won through Education Foundation! Once Nugget is fully trained and ready for school, she'll accompany me for guidance lessons, small groups, and many other activities that will benefit all the kids here at Foster. She LOVES people and is very eager to begin!
