    Folders
Most days your child will bring home his/her red daily folder. It will contain important papers and  work that has been completed in class.  It will also contain a sheet that will give updates on your child's progress in basic kindergarten behaviors.  Notes from the teacher do not indicate the need for a conference.  They simply address areas that could use some positive encouragement at home. :)  I also ask that you empty the folder of all contents, initial, and please return the folder the following day.

    Conference Times
My conference time is 12:30-1:00pm.  Formal conferences are scheduled at the end of October on Early Release dates.  Conferences will be scheduled in 30 minute blocks.  Sign up sheets will be sent home with your top 2 choices of time frames.  I will do my best to make a schedule that works for everyone.

    Snacks and Water Bottles
Students are encouraged to bring a snack and water bottle to class. Snacks will be eaten during snacktime and water bottles will be used outside during recess and PE.  Snacks must be dry, healthy, disposable finger foods.  Water bottles must contain water only. Please do not send juice, sports drinks or sodas. These drinks can stain the carpet in our classroom if accidentaly spilled.  Bottles with a spout are preferred.

    Dismissal
Dismissal will follow the guidelines set forth by the front office.  Please be sure that you register any names of those people that will be allowed to pick up your child from school.  No child will be released to anyone without prior notification.  I will adhere to your child's normal method of transportation unless  otherwise notified in writing, e-mail, or by phone.  I will not accept word of mouth instructions from your child. This is for safety purposes.

    Clothing
Please choose clothing that is suitable for active play and weather conditions.  Make sure clothing does not hinder your child's ability to care for bathroom needs.  Make sure all removable items are marked with your child's name.  Please choose shoes that your child can tie or buckle independently.  Girls, please wear shorts under your skirts. Also, be sure to send an extra set of clothing in your child's backpack for unforeseen accidents.

    Absence Reporting
If your child is going to be absent, please contact the school.  When your child returns to school, you must send a note that includes the dates of the absence and your signature. You will have 3 days to send the excuse.

    Behavior Management
Behavior will be reported in your child's daily folder.  Students will learn to SOAR at ESE. That means that each child will learn to be SAFE, ORGANIZED, ACCOUNTABLE, and RESPECTFUL. Classroom expectations will be positive and kind.

    Notes
Any notes sent to school need to be in your child's daily folder.  Children forget to give important papers to the teacher when they are loose in thier backpacks.

    Toys
Please do not allow your child to bring toys or sports equipment to school.  There will be opportunities for students to share special items with their classmates on designated days.  However, if you have something that relates to the content being studied, please send  a note to see if this item can be brought to school.

    Cafeteria Menu and Payment
Parents can access cafeteria menus through our school website
.  Payments for lunch can be made in cash, by check (made out to ESE), or online using a credit card.

    Birthday Treats
Birthday treats can only be shared and eaten during lunch.  Parents may choose to send a mini-cupcake, cookie, or buy ice cream in the cafeteria for the entire class. Favor bags can not be given to students.
