    Kingwood High School is a Class Six-A comprehensive high school. Teachers, counselors, and administrators offer an individualized approach to learning and development. KHS is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency, and the 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 winner of the Lone Star Cup. Kingwood High School opened in 1979, and has gone through several renovations over the years.
    Curriculum In order to meet each student's needs, courses are offered at varying levels of instruction: College Preparation, Honors, and Advanced Placement. An English class for identified Gifted and Talented is offered at each grade level. Contemporary career and technical education courses prepare students for immediate employment or continuing education. A highly developed program for special education students is available.
    High School Planning Guide
    Class Rank Rank is determined by adding all grade points earned in grades 9 through the third nine weeks of the senior year. Transfer students receive credit for honors courses taken elsewhere if Humble ISD offers that course as honors. Honors, advanced placement, and gifted/talented classes carry one grade point higher on the grading scale than level courses.
