Texas Education Code Chapter 39 requires that each district publish an annual report. The components of the report include the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) report for the district and each campus; campus performance objectives; a district summary report of violent or criminal incidents to the extent permitted under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); and information received under Texas Education Code §51.403(e) from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).
Prior to 2013, the components of the report included the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report for the district and each campus. Since 2013 it includes the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) for the district and each campus.
The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. This information is put into the annual TAPR reports, which are available each year in November. School district and campus ratings only are announced in late summer or early fall; however, full reports are not released until November. Each school's profile page includes some of the data from the TAPR report, including STAAR scores, ethnicity, and student/teacher ratios. Links to the TAPR data collection for the most recent year
