Welcome to my AVID and Texas History Class!

AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

Both courses, AVID and Texas History will include the incorporation of reading (Fiction and non-fiction texts); language arts/writing concepts; organization (usage of HMS planner and binder); collaboration(applications of verbal and written conventions); Inquiry-promotes the development of critical questions, wondering, and hypothesizing- all which leads a student to a higher level of understanding. In addition, students will complete research projects and multimedia presentations.
