Watch D.O.G.S.

  • Watch D.O.G.S. stands for Dads of Great Students.  At Autumn Creek, we have expanded this to include any positive male role model including grandpas, cousins, uncles, and special family friends.

    What do Watch D.O.G.S. do?

Watch Dogs come to volunteer at our school.  They provide a visible presence on campus in classrooms, the hallway, at lunch, and at recess.  We ask Watch Dogs to build relationships with ACE students and to serve in any way possible at the campus.

What does a typical service day look like?

Here's an outline of what a full day of service would look like:

    • 7:20am - Check in and receive your schedule for the day
    • 7:30-8am- Help with morning dropoff, opening car doors, giving high fives, and being friendly.
    • 8:00am-9:00- Serve in your child's classroom as a volunteer
    • 9:00-10:00- serve in a specials classroom (art, PE, library, music, STEM), just helping kids and the teacher
    • 10:00-11:00- Serve in another classroom
    • 11:00-12:30- Help at lunch and/ or recess
    • 12:30-1:00- Break
    • 1:00-2:00- Helping the office staff around the school.
    • 2:00-3:00- Supporting another classroom.  This might be reading to the class or with individual students, or working on other projects
    • 3:00-3:45- Dismissal support

We offer options from 1 hour of service up to a full day.  Many employers consider your service to be a form of community service, so check with them on whether they will support this effort.
