    Hello, 

    I am Mrs. Perla Alanis and I am the newest Counselor at Lakeland Elementary. This year marks my 11th year in Education. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Houston- Clear Lake and became a classroom teacher. I then went on to obtain my Masters degree from the University of St. Thomas and became a School Counselor. Being a school counselor is one of my biggest passions. I believe in the importance of being mentally and emotionally healthy in order to be academically successful. I love helping our students and their families as well as providing support to our teachers and staff. 

    I am very excited to be joining the Lakeland Family and working with our Wildcats. I will be implementing Guidance Lessons, as well as provide Individual and Small Group Counseling. Whatever is discussed during counseling is confidential with the exception of if a student is in danger. This includes self harm or if someone else is hurting them. 

    During my time off, I enjoy doing outdoor activities like walking in the park, going to Theme Parks and spending time with family.
