State Testing for Virtual Students
- Students must report to their testing rooms by 8:20am. Testing room assignments will be given to students once the arrive on campus. Virtual students may ride the bus to school by reporting to their regular bus stop. If a student forgets a mask, adults stationed near the entrance doors will provide one. If they choose to do so, virtual students can use their student ID number to receive a free meal for breakfast in the cafeteria. A la carte items from the breakfast menu must be purchased.
- Students must have an ID to present to the test proctor upon entering the testing room. This school year's school ID is preferred. Last school year's ID will be accepted. If the student does not have an ID at all, the student should go to their grade level office when they arrive on campus to get an alternate ID.
- Water bottles can be brought and placed under the desks. If they choose to do so, virtual students can use their student ID number to receive a free meal for lunch in the cafeteria. A la carte items from the lunch menu must be purchased, and sack lunches may be brought from home. Virtual students should limit the items they bring to school. They will need an ID and a pencil. They may bring a water bottle and items for lunch. If a student chooses to bring a personal cell phone or personal electronic device, it cannot stay in the student's pocket or at their desk during testing. The Test Administrator will tell the student where to put it in the classroom during testing.
- Students have 4 hours to complete each STAAR test. This time does not include the time to read directions or lunch. TELPAS tests are untimed. Depending on when students finish testing, students will be released from the testing room between noon and 2pm. When testing is finished, virtual students may get a ride home from a family member by waiting at the front entrance of the school, walk home, or wait in a designated location until afternoon dismissal at 4pm to ride the bus home.
