Houston Food Bank Backpack Buddy Program

Humble ISD has partnered with the Houston Backpack Buddy Program to offer students assisstance each week with a sack of food.

Here is how the program works:

• There is no charge for the food sacks to the parent or students(s).
• Every Friday afternoon at the school your student attends, your child will receive a sack full of nutritious food for the weekend.  The food sacks are distributed as discreetly as possible and generally contain enough food to serve one child per weekend.
• Texas Emergency Food Assitance Program (TEFAP) products comprise a large percentage of the food sacks that are distributed to the Backpack Buddy participants.
• The Houston Food Bank welcomes any family who is in need of this assitance.  If you would like your student to participate please contact your childs grade level counselor.
