    • Gladys Alexander, RN

      Gladys has been the school nurse at Ross Sterling Middle School for the past 9 years. Gladys has served in education for a total of 9 years.

    • Wendy Bethany
      Wendy has been the ESL Lead Teacher at Summer Creek High School for the past 8 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Wendy taught in Aldine ISD for 18 years. She has served as an educator for a total of 26 years.

    • Tracy Bidwell
      Tracy has been the Instructional Technologist at Summerwood Elementary School for the past 12 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught for 3 years in Alief ISD, 3 years in Fort Bend ISD, 9 years in Lamar Consolidated ISD, 5 years in Louisiana Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee. Tracy has served as an educator for a total of 32 years.

    • Michael Bienenstock
      Michael has been the American Sign Language Teacher at Summer Creek High School for the past 10 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Michael was a High School Science Teacher for the Deaf in NY, Teacher of the Deaf in public Schools in Maryland, College Professor at Lamar University and the University of Houston. He has served as an educator for a total of 38 years.

    • Donna Bruffy
      Donna has been the Secretary to the Executive Director of Special Education for the past 12 years. She has been in the Special Education Department for a total of 17 years. Before coming to SPED, Donna worked at Creekwood Middle School for 6 years as the Receptionist/Attendance Specialist. She has served in education for a total of 24 years. A reception in her honor will be held at the Instructional Support Center on May 31 at 3:30 p.m.

    • Betsy Duplechain
      Betsy has been the ELT serving ESL students and GT students at Woodland Hills Elementary for the past 4 years. Also at WHE she was the Math Coach for 2 years, ESL Lead/Math Coach for 2 years, ESL Lead/Interventionist/Writing Coach for 2 years, 3rd Grade Teacher for 3 years, 2nd Grade Teacher for 7 years, and was the WHE Teacher of the Year for 2004-2005. Before coming to Humble ISD, Betsy taught PreK4 and Kindergarten at St. Martha Catholic School-Kingwood for 2 years, and PreK3 and PreK4 at Holy Comforter Lutheran Preschool-Kingwood for 7 years. Betsy has served as an educator for a total of 29 years.

    • Cynthia Griffin
      Cynthia has been an Educational Diagnostician in Humble ISD for 15 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she was a Diagnostician at Big Thicket Cooperative for Special Education, serving West Hardin ISD and Lumberton ISD. Before that she was a Diagnostician for 4 years in Beaumond ISD and for 2 years at Lamar University. Cynthia has served in education for a total of 36 years.

    • Royce Huseman
      Royce has been the Head Boys Basketball Coach and a Geometry Teacher at Kingwood High School for the past 32 years.

    • Rex Inman
      Rex has served as a DAEP and PACE Teacher and IT at the Community Learning Center for the past 28 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, he taught in Fort Worth ISD for 1 year. Rex said he has 27 years in the U.S. Navy and 29 years in Teaching, and is retiring to  spend more time with Susan.

    • Linda Kenyon
      Linda has served as the Interventionist and Dyslexia teacher at River Pines Elementary for the past year. Prior to that she was a Special Education Teacher for 2 years at RPE, a SPED teacher at Lakeland Elementary for 12 years, and an Adaptive Behavior/Behavior Intervention Teacher at LLE for 3 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Linda was an Adaptive Behavior teacher in Spring ISD for 2 1/2 years. Linda has served as an educator for a total of 20 1/2 years.

    • Kathy Pinner
      Kathy has been the Special Ed Interventionist at Lakeshore Elementary for the past year. Before that, Kathy was the RtI Interventionist for 2 years, taught 4th grade for 2 years, 1st grade for 2 years, and 3rd grade for one year. Before coming to LSE, Kathy taught 3rd grade at Summerwood Elementary for one year. Prior to her service in Humble ISD, Kathy taught in Christoval ISD and Thorndale ISD for one year each, at Rockdale ISD for 9 years, at Culberson County ISD for one year, at Monahans Wickett Pyote ISD for 6 years, at Gonzales ISD for 9 years, and in Johnstown, Colorado public schools for 4 years. Kathy has served as an educator for a total of 40 years.

    • Debbie Prucha
      Debbie has been a Math Teacher at Kingwood High School for the past 11 years. Before coming to KHS, Debbie taught math at Humble 9th Grade Campus for 12 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Galena Park ISD for two years. Debbie has served as an educator for a total of 25 years.

    • Rhian Webb
      Rhian has been a Math Teacher at Kingwood High School for the past 16 years. Before teaching at KHS, she taught at Humble Middle School for 4 years, and at Humble High School for one year. Before coming to Humble ISD, Rhian taught in the United Kingdom for four years. She has served as an educator for a total of 29 years.

    • Jean Ann West
      Jean Ann has been the Academic Lead Teacher - Literacy K-5 at Deerwood Elementary for the past year. Before that she was a 1st Grade Teacher at DWE for 4 years, was a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader at ISC for 5 years, and was a Reading Recovery Teacher, Basic Skills Teacher, Dyslexia Interventionist, and 4th Grade Teacher at Jack Fields Elementary for 9 years. Jean Ann has served in education for a total of 19 years.

      • Cindy Hunt
        Hidden Hollow Elementary bids farewell to Cindy Hunt, their Assistant Principal for the past 10 years. Before coming to HHE, Cindy was an Assistant Principal at Timbers for 5 years, and a Special Education Teacher at Hidden Hollow for 11 years. Before coming to Humble ISD Cindy taught in Klein ISD for 9 years. She has served as an educator for a total of 35 years.

      • Ron Stump
        Ron has been a Teacher and Coach at Atascocita for the past 5 years. Before coming to AHS, he taught and coached in various places for 29 years. Ron has served as an educator for 34 years.

      • Juergen Achtermann
        Juergen has been a Varsity Gymnastics Coach for the past 34 years. He is retiring as the Varsity Coach at Atascocita High School. Juergen has served as a Varsity Gymnastics Coach at Atascocita High School, Humble High School, and Kingwood High School. He coached athletes to the State Finals each and every year since 1982, earning the distinction of being the most consistently winning coach in Humble ISD history.

    • Ella Adams
      Ella has been a counselor at Timberwood Middle School for the past 10 years. Prior to her work at TMS, Ella was at Kingwood Middle School for 5 years, at Humble Middle School for 4 years, and at TMS for 6 years. She has served in education for a total fo 25 years.

    • Eileen Alexander
      Eileen has been the Secretary at Bear Branch Elementary for the past 21 years. Before taking the secretarial position, she was a Special Education Para. Eileen has served in education for a total of 21 years.

    • Katherine Bash
      Katherine has been the Child Nutrition Manager at Summer Creek High School for 6 years. Before she helped open the SCHS campus, Katherine was manager at AMS and KMS. Before becoming manager at AMS, she was first a Child Nutrition Specialist. She has served in Child Nutririon for a total of 22 years. 

    • Judy Browder
      Judy has been the CATE Bookkeeper for the past 11 years. Before coming to CATE, she was the Principal's Secretary and Bookkeeper at North Belt Elementary. Before coming to Humble ISD, Judy worked in Ft. Bend ISD as the Construction and Maintenance Secretary for 3 years, in Alief ISD for 12 years; first at Elsik High School, then Holub Middle School and finally as Principal's Secretary at Hastings High School. Judy has served in education for a total of 28 years.

    • Pamela Denmon
      Pamela has been the RELA teacher at Timberwood Middle School for the past 6 years. Before coming to TMS, she taught at Riverwood Middle School for 3 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Pamela taught in North Forest ISD for 15 years. She has served as an educator for a total of 24 years.

    • Susan Ellington
      Susan has been a 3rd Grade Teacher at Summerwood Elementary for the past 5 years. Before coming to Summerwood, she taught 3rd and 4th grade at Woodland Hills Elementary for 7 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Susan taught in Katy ISD for 2 years and in Lamar CISD for 16 years. Susan has served as an educator for a total of 30 years.

    • Jo Marie Faggard
      Jo Marie has been a 1st Grade Teacher at Timbers Elementary for the past 24 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she taught in Liberty ISD for 3 years and in Lamar Consolidated ISD for 2 years. Jo Marie has served as an educator for a total of 29 years.

    • Jan Gorey
      Jan has been the ELT at River Pines Elementary for the past two years. Prior to that, she was an ALT at River Pines for 5 years, and a classroom teacher at Elm Grove Elementary for 14 years. Jan has served as an educator for a total of 21 years.

    • Jackie Grant
      Counselor at Kingwood Middle School for the past 3 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Jackie worked in New Caney ISD for the past 13 years as a 1st grade teacher, elementary and middle school counselor and elementary assistant principal. Jackie spent 7 years in Mansfield ISD as a 1st, 2nd and 4th grade teacher and 7 years in Pasadena ISD serving as a 1st grade teacher. She has served as an educator for a total of 30 years.
    • Beverly Hall
      Beverly has been a SPED Paraeducator at Atascocita Middle School for the past 3 years. Before AMS, Beverly  was a Library Para at Elm Grove Elementary for two years, a SPED Para at Maplebrook Elementary for 1 year, and was a SPED Para for 8 years and also taught in the science lab for 4 1/2 years at Timbers Elementary. She subbed in Humble ISD for 1 year. She has served in education for a total of 15 years.

    • Pamela R. Johnson
      Pamela has been a CTE Teacher of Cosmetology at Summer Creek High School for the past 3 years. She also taught students from Kingwood High School, Kingwood Park High School and Cambridge. Before coming to Humble ISD, Pamela taught in North Forest ISD for 34 years. She has served as an educator for a total of 37 years.

    • Amard Rollins
      Amard has been an Adaptive Behavior Teacher at Creekwood Middle School for the past 3 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Amard taught for 2 years at St. Thomas Episcopal, and fir 6 years in Houston ISD. Amard has served as an educator for a total of 11 years.

    • Deborah Stratton
      Deborah has been the Math ALT at Eagle Springs Elementary for the past 4 years. She helped open ESE in 2006. Prior to becoming Math ELT, she was a 4th Grade Math/Science/SS at ESE for 6 years. Before coming to Eagle Springs, Deborah taught Math/SC/SS at Maplebrook Elementary for 4 years. Before than, she taught Math/Writing/SS at Timbers Elementary for 8 yrs, and she taught Sped and 4th grade Math/Writing/SS at Lakeland Elementary for 2 and a half years. Prior to her work in Humble ISD, Deborah taught elementary & middle school P.E., and was a girls track coach for 4 years in Springfield, Illinois, and she taught 5th grade for 2 and a half years in West Frankfort, Illinois. Deborah has served in education for a total of 31 years. A reception was held in her honor at ESE on May 18.

    • Betty Wolf
      Betty has been an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for the past 5 years. Before that, she was the Principal's Secretary at Kingwood High School for 10 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Betty worked in Galena Park ISD for 6 years. She has served in education for a total of 21 years. A reception in her honor will be held on Thursday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m. at KHS in LGI-2310. Parking is in the back lot, using the back doors as entry. Get the flier here.

    • Marlene Boronyak
      Marlene has been the secretary for the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the last year. Before that, Marlene worked in the Records/Document Development Department for 3 years, was Reading/Language Arts Secretary for 6 years and was Administrative Assistant to the Associate Director of Technology for 6 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Marlene was the bookkeeper for a Catholic school in New Orleans, LA for 2 years. She has served in education for a total of 18 years.

    • Carol Kollehner
      Carol has taught at Creekwood Middle School for the past 11 years. Before coming to CMS, Carol was a Physical Education Teacher at Willow Creek Elementary for 6 years, and prior to that she was a PE Aide at WCE for 4 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she was a Cafeteria Manager in San Luis Obispo, CA. Carol has served in education for a total of 22 years.

    • Mindy LaCour
      Mindy has been the Assistant Director for Educational Support Services for the past 3 years. Before that, Mindy served as Humble ISD's Deaf education Coordinator for 13 years, and as a Deaf Education Teacher for 11 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she worked in Aldine ISD for 6 years and in Lake Charles, LA for 2 years. Mindy has served as an educator for 33 years.

    • Tammy McHale
      Tammy has been an Assistant Principal at Humble High School for the past 15 years. Before that she taught at HHS for 11 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Tammy taught English in Greenwood, South Carolina for 6 years. Tammy has served in education for a total of 32 years.

    • Kathy Oberle Osberg
      Kathy has been in Adapted Physical Education for the Atascocita vertical alignment for the past 8.5 years. Before that, she taught Health Education at Riverwood Middle School for 6 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Kathy taught Elementary P.E. in Spring ISD for 5 years. She has served in education for a total of 19.5 years.

    • Sherri L Smith
      Administrative Assistant to
      Deputy Superintendent & Chief Academic Officer Dr. Thomas Price. Before that, Sherri came to Humble ISD as a PE Aide at Woodland Hills Elementary in 1991. She later moved into the WHE front office. Sherri later worked at Quest High School and Riverwood Middle School. Sherri became Administrative Assistant to Associate Superintendent John Miller and Assistant Superintendent John Widmier, then later for Assistant Superintendents Cecilia Hawkins and Paula Doebele. Sherri has served for 25 years in Humble ISD.

    • Debby Teter
      Debby has been the Instructional Technologist  at Willow Creek Elementary for the past 25 years. She has served in Humble ISD for a total of 33 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Debby worked in Desoto ISC and in Ferris ISD for a total of 39 years in education.


    • Glenda Wilson
      Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services, is retiring after 28 years with Humble ISD.

    • Mark Beridon
      Mark has been the Food Services Manager at Eagle Springs Elementary for the past 10 years. Before coming to ESE, he served at Elm Grove Elementary for 14 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Mark worked in school food services in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mark has served in child nutrition for a total of 26 years.

    • Donna Dunham
      Donna has been a RELA teacher at Atascocita Middle School for the past 10 years. Before coming to AMS, she taught at Whispering Pines for 7 years and at Humble Middle School for 7 years for a total of 24 years in Humble ISD. Before coming to Humble ISD Donna was an educator for 20 years in Maryland, Department of Defense Schools in Okinawa, Japan, and in California. She has a grand total of 44 years as an educator!

    • Debbi Ensey
      Debbie has been a 5th grade RELA Teacher at Maplebrook Elementary for the past 14 years. Before coming to Maplebrook, she taught at Jack Fields Elementary for 7 years, and at Humble Elementary for 2 years. Debbi has served as an educator for a total of 23 years.

    • Melinda Greene
      Melinda has been the Academic Lead Teacher for RELA at Atascocita Middle School for the past 6 years. Before coming to AMS she taught RELA at Humble Middle School. Before coming to Humble ISD, Melinda taught in Crosby ISD for 17 years, in Aldine ISD for 2 years, and in Jasper ISD for 6 years. She has been an educator for a total of 33 years.

    • Terry Harshaw
      Terry has been a teacher in Humble ISD for 17 years. Her first 8 years were spent teaching science at Timberwood Middle School where she was chosen as Campus Teacher of the Year and District Finalist in 2003. She transferred to Lakeland Elementary as a Science Coach for 5 years in 2010 and was honored there as Campus Teacher of the Year. Terry was honored as District Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2009. Shortly after, she was recruited by Rice University to teach in the REMSL program in partnership with HISD. She returned to TMS to finish her career were she has spent the last 3 years teaching science and loving her students. Terry has been an educator for a total of 17 years.

    • Cordelia "Didi" Jordon
      Didi was the Librarian at Humble Middle School for the past 10 years. Before coming to HMS, she was the librarian at Whispering Pines Elementary for 15 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Didi worked at Francis Elementary and Teague Middle School in Aldine ISD for 15 years, and before coming to Texas she was a 6th grade teacher in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana for 4 years. Didi has served as an educator for a total of 44 years!

    • Paige Parker
      Paige has been a Digital Learning Specialist/IT Specialist for the past 16 years. Before joining the Technology Department, Paige taught English and Journalism at Kingwood High School for 4 years, and she taught English and Journalism and was also the campus IT at Humble High for 10 years. Paige has served as an educator in Humble ISD for a total of 30 years.

    • Brenda Ray
      Brenda was a Math Teacher and Assistant Gymnastics Coach at Kingwood High School for 22 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Brenda taught at Scarborough High School and Teh High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice in Huston ISD for 4 years. While in Houston ISD, Brenda taught math and sponsored several clubs, including Student Council. She served as the Scarborough High Swimming and Diving Coach. Before that, Brenda taught math at Crosby High School for 4 years, sponsoring several clubs and organizing the homecoming parade and honors nights. Brenda has served as an educator for a total of 30 years.

    • Shari Stringer
      Shari has been a teacher at River Pines Elementary for the past 8 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Shari taught at St. Martha's Catholic School, Austin ISD, Bastrop ISD, Ser Niños Charter School and at Spring ISD. She has been an educator for a total of 19 years.

    • Jodi Wapplehorst
      Jodi has been a 2nd grade teacher at Maplebrook Elementary School for the past 14 years. Before coming to Maplebrook, she taught 3rd grade at Timbers Elementary for 3 years, and at North Belt Elementary for 5 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Jodi taught 1st grade at Bastrop Elementary School in Bastrop ISD, 4th grade at J. Houston Elementary School in Austin ISD, and 4th grade at Reagan Elementary School in Abilene ISD. She has been an educator for a total of 29 years.

    • Glenda Wilson
      Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Support Services, is retiring after 28 years with Humble ISD.

    • Rose Edmond
      Oak Forest Elementary Cafeteria Manager. rose has 26 years of service with the Humble ISD Child Nutrition Department. She has served as Cafeteria Manager at Humble Middle School, Humble High School, Kingwood High School, and Oak Forest Elementary. She has been the Cafeteria Manager at OFE for the past 12 years.

    • Ricky Jenkins
      HVAC Energy Management Technician in the Maintenance Department for 26 years. There will be a reception for Ricky on December 19 at 2 p.m. in the Maintenance Center Conference Room. Get the flier.
    • Don Withrow
      Integrated Pest Control/Grounds Supervisor. Don has served in the Humble ISD Operations Department for 24 years. There will be a party in his honor on January 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Maintenance Center conference room. Get the flier.
     
    SPRING 2014 RETIREMENTS:

    • Karen Abbott
      Karen has been an Instructional Technologist at Lakeland Elementary for the past 19 years. Before coming to Lakeland, Karen taught at Bear Branch Elementary for 3 years, at Creekwood Middle School for 4 years, and at Kingwood Middle for 1 year. Prior to her work in Humble ISD, Karen taught at St. Clair County schools in Alabama for 3 years and at Lutheran Preschool for 3 years. Karen has served as an educator for a total of 33 years.  A retirement reception was held on March 27th in the Lakeland Elementary School library.

    • Carla Atkinson
      Teacher and Service Learning Coordinator at KPHS for the past 8 years. Before that, Carla taught at Kingwood High School for 4 years and at Kingwood Ninth Grade Campus for 14 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Carla taught in Lancaster ISD for 2 years. She has served in education for a total of 28 years.

    • Paula Bailey
      Paula has been a Social Studies Teacher at Kingwood High School for the past 21 years.
    • Meredith Beasley
      Math ALT at Foster Elementary for the past two years. Before becoming the Math ALT, she taught Kindergarten at Foster for 16 years. Prior to coming to Foster, Meredith taught at North Belt Elementary for 9 years and was a District Math Specialist for 3 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she taught in Navasota for a year. Meredith has served as an educator for a total of 31 years.

    • Karen L. Brown
      6th Grade Math Teacher at Riverwood Middle School for 19 years. Before coming to RMS, Karen was an Assistant Principal at Humble Elementary for 2 years, and a 5th grade teacher at Elm Grove Elementary for 1 year. Before coming to Humble ISD, Karen taught in Klein ISD for 1 year and in Chillicothe and Pepper Pike, Ohio for 4 years. She has served as an educator for 27 years.     • Laura Clapp
      Kindergarten Teacher at Foster Elementary for 22 years. Before coming to Foster, Laura taught at Lakeland Elementary for 8 years. She taught 1st Grade for 2 years and Kindergarten for 28 years. Laura has served as an educator for a total of 30 years.

    • Jackie Costanza
      French Teacher/Foreign Language Department at Humble High School for the pas 16 years. Before coming to HHS and Humble ISD, Jackie taught for a year in Magnolia ISD, for 4 years in Conroe ISD, and for 7 years in New York State. She has served as an educator for a total of 28 years.

    • John Daigle
      Teacher, Ross Sterling Middle School, Special Services Department, for the past 7 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, John taught in Alice ISD for 4 years. He has served as an educator for a total of 11 years.

    • Cynthia Grant
      Pine Forest Elementary Second Grade Teacher for five years. Before coming to PFE, Cynthia taught at Timbers Elementary for 16 years and at Lakeland Elementary for 9 years. Cynthia has served as an educator for a total of 30 years.

    • Donna Haselden
      Science Academic Lead Teacher at Woodcreek Middle School for the past 4 years. Before coming to WMS, Donna taught science at Atascocita Middle for 2 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Tarkington ISD for 17 years, and in Catholic schools in Beaumont for 4 years. Donna has served as an educator for a total of 27 years.

    • Kathy Humphries
      Teacher at Jack Fields Elementary School for the past 16 years Kathy has taught at Lakeland, Deerwood, North Belt and Jack Fields elementaries for a combined 36 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Louisiana and Mississippi for five years. Kathy has served as an educator for a total of 41 years.

    • Judith Jeffryes
      Summerwood Elementary School Receptionist for the last 18 months. Judith came to SWE from Accounts Payable, where she worked for 6 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she served in Mansfield ISD for 23 years. Judith has worked in education for 30 years.
    • Kevin Johnson
      Head Boys Soccer Coach at Kingwood High School for the past 25 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Kevin worked in Clear Creek ISD for 5 years, Fort Bend ISD for 4 years, and Houston ISD for 1 year. Kevin has served as an educator for a total of 35 years.

    • Greg Joseph

    • Patty Lam
      Teacher at Greentree Elementary for the past 19 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Patty taught in LCISD for 5 years, Brenham ISD for 4 years, and Frisco ISD for 1 year. She has served as an educator for a total of 29 years.

    • Jane Mehring
      Oaks Elementary Librarian for 25 years. Before coming to The Oaks, Jane was a 4th grade teacher at Humble Elementary for 10 years. She has served as an educator for 35 years. A reception honoring Jane will be held on May 29 from 4-5:30 p.m. in The Oaks Library. Get the invitation.
    • Jan Morris
      Literacy Facilitator in Curriculum and Instruction at the ISC for the past 12 years. Jan has been with Humble ISD since 1983. She worked as a para educator at Woodland Hills Elementary for 3 years before going to Lakeland Elementary, where she worked for 10 years as a classroom teacher and Reading Recovery teacher. She worked at Humble Elementary for 3 years as a classroom teacher and literacy coach. She trained through Literacy Collaborative for two years and helped pilot this program at Humble Elementary. Jan worked at North Belt as a literacy coach for 2 years before coming to Curriculum and Instruction, where she has spent the last 12 years as an Elementary Literacy Facilitator. She has served in education for a total of 30 years.

      Para-Educator PPCD-Pre-K at the Oaks Elementary School for the past 9 years. Before coming to the Oaks, Lila worked at Lakeland Elementary for 12 years.     • Joyce Pope
      Teacher at Foster Elementary school for the past 28 years. Joyce has taught Early Childhood through 5th Grade and has been a Reading Specialist. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Splendora for 5 years. Joyce has served as an educator for a total of 33 years.

    • Marcia Reineking
      Principal at Maplebrook Elementary for the past 13 years. Before coming to Maplebrook, Marcia was principal at Jack Fields Elementary for 6 years, assistant principal at Greentree Elementary for 5 years, and Teacher at Bear Branch Elementary for 7 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Marcia taught in Cy-Fair for two years, and also in Maryland, Florida, and Indiana. She has served as an educator for 42 years.

    • Mary Ann Schaefer
      KPHS English Co-Teacher. She has taught in Humble ISD Special Education for 16 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Mary Ann taught for 5 years in Ohio.

    • Carol Shackouls
      Kindergarten teacher at Shadow Forest Elementary for the past 20 years. Before coming to Shadow Forest, Carol taught kindergarten, 1st and 2nd for 14 years at Elm Grove Elementary, 1st grade at WHE for 2 years, and 1st grade at BBE for one year. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Mississippi and Louisiana for 3 years. Carol has served as an educator for 40 years.     • Carol K. Smith
      Math Teacher at Kingwood High School for the last 35 years! While at KHS, Carol was a Math Teacher from 1979-1999, a Math Department Chair from 1999-2012, and Math Department Manager from 2012-2014. Before coming to Humble ISD she served in Alief ISD for four years. Carol has served as an educator for 39 years.

    • Ruth T. Smith
      Kingwood High School Reading Teacher. Ruth has served at Kingwood High School (SPED & Reading) for the past 33 years. Before coming to KHS, she taught at HHS for 1 year in Special Ed. Prior to coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Minden, LA for 1 year and in Little Rock, AK for 4 years. Ruth has served as an educator for 39 years.

    • Deborah Tyler
      Hidden Hollow Elementary Physical Education Teacher for the past 24 years. Before coming to Hidden Hollow, Deborah was a PE teacher at Woodland Hills Elementary for 2 years as a Physical Education Para-educator. Before coming to Humble ISD, Deborah was a 6th Grade PE teacher in Aldine ISD for one year. She has served in education for a total of 27 years.
      A surprise reception was held at HHE on 1/30/14 in honor of the only Physical Education Teacher HHE has had since they opened in 1990!

    • Caryn Uttenweiler
      Kindergarten Teacher at Deerwood Elementary for the past 6 years. Before coming to Deerwood, Caryn taught Kindergarten at Humble Elementary for 18 years, starting when the campus was located on Charles Street. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Pasadena ISD for 7 years and in Aldine ISD for 1 year. Caryn has been an educator for a total of 32 years.

    • Terri VeDepo
      Principal at Foster Elementary for the past 14 years, and before that she was an Assistant Principal for 5 years. Before coming to Foster, Terri taught at Timbers, Deerwood, and North Belt.  She has taught Pre-K, Second, Third and Basic Skills. She is moving to the Hill Country with her family. Terri VeDepo has served as an educator for 34 years–33 of those in Humble ISD. 

    • Gail Wright
      Teacher at Kingwood Park High School for the past 5 years. Before coming to KPHS, Gail taught World Geography at Kingwood Ninth Grade Campus for 16 years, and US History and Geography at KHS for 1 year. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught GT/Social Studies at Seyquoia Middle School in Broken Arrow, OK. Gail has served as an educator for a total of 23 years.

      Humble High School Teacher for 11 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Mary taught in New Caney ISD for 9 years. She has served as an educator for 20 years.

      Has worked in the Humble ISD Maintenance Department for 26 years.

    • Allan Griffin
      Special assignment, Public Information Office. Allan joined Humble ISD in 1978. He taught at Humble Middle School and Atascocita Middle School; He was Purchasing Assistant Director; Transportation Assistant Director; and Special Projects for Public Information and Community Development offices.     • Carla Hopkins
      Life Skills Teacher at Pine Forest Elementary for 28 years. Carla joined the Humble ISD Family in 1984, and for 2 years she was the only elementary Life Skills teacher in the district. Before coming to Humble ISD, Carla taught Life Skills in Pasadena ISD for 2 years. She taught in Little Rock, AR, for a year and was the director of the Oxford Child Development Center in Oxford, MS, for 7 years. Carla has served as a Special Educator for 40 years.

    • Dolly Smith
      Timbers Elementary School Counselor. Dolly has served as a counselor at Timbers for the past 34 years. Before coming to TE, she did student teaching and then taught kindergarten and 3rd grade at Humble Elementary for 3 years, and taught kindergarten at Oaks Elementary for one year. Dolly has served as an educator for 38 years, all in Humble ISD!
      Timbers will host a retirement reception on December 10, from 4-6 p.m. in the TE Cafeteria.

    • Beverly Stanton
      Assistant Director of Child Nutrition Services for the past 9 years. Beverly worked in our Child Nutrition Services for a total of 26 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught for 5 years in the Territory of Guam and worked for 6 years in Child Nutrition in Baton Rouge, LA. Beverly has served in education for a total of 37 years.

    • Phyllis Webb
      Humble High School Counselor for more than 25 years. Part of that time was at H-9, the freshman campus of Humble High. Before HHS, Phyllis served as a counselor at Foster Elementary for 3 1/2 years. Prior to her work in Humble ISD, Phyllis taught for a year at Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, VA and taught chemistry and also served as a counselor for 4 years at York High School in Yorktown, VA. She has served as an educator for 34 years.

      Assistant Principal at Atascocita High School and GRAD Night School Principal for the past 7 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Amy taught for 7 years in Aldine ISD, 4 years in Pasadena ISD, 3 years in Texas City ISD, 5 years in Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD, and 4 years in Los Fresnos ISD. Amy has served as an educator for 30 years.

    • Inga Berney
      Technology/Business Instructor & Yearbook Advisor at Riverwood Middle School for 15 1/2 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Inga taught Technology/Business at Newton High School in Newton ISD for 16 years, and at Wills Point High School in Wills Point ISD for 2 1.2 years. Inga has been an educator for 34 years.
    • Linda (Lindy) Hood
      Lindy has been a First Grade Teacher at Shadow Forest Elementary for the past 11 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught for 3 years in Livingston ISD, 6 years at Isaacs Elementary in Houston ISD, 10 years at Bonner Elementary in Houston ISD, and 11 years at Briargrove Elementary in Houston ISD. Lindy has served as an educator for a total of 41 years, 35 of those years as a first grade teacher.

      Kathy has been the Principal's Office Professional at Oaks Elementary School for 22 years
    • Teresa Nelson
      Math Instructional Coach ALT at Riverwood Middle School for the past 4 years. Teresa has been at Riverwood for 22 years. Before that, she taught math at Humble Middle School and Atascocita Middle School. Before coming to Humble ISD, Teresa taught in Tarkington ISD, Dayton ISD, Cy-Fair ISD, and served as Assistant Principal and Assistant Curriculum Person for Splendora ISD. Teresa has been an educator for a total of 37 years.

    • Paula Ortiz
      Math Teacher at Kingwood Park High School. Paula has been a math teacher for 21 years; she taught at KPHS for 8 years, at Humble 9th Grade Campus for 11 years, and at Humble Middle School for 2 years. Paula has served as an educator for a total of 21 years.

    • Debbie Powell
      CBISS at Riverwood Middle School for the past two years. She has served 22 years at Riverwood Middle, 5 years at Kingwood High School and 5 years at Creekwood Middle School. Over her 32 years in Humble ISD, Debbie has taught Physical Education, Coached Volleyball Basketball & Track, Typing, Keyboarding, Data Entry, as well as CBISS. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught PE for one year in Livingston ISD for a total of 33 years in education.
    • Eileen Michelle Prentice
      Instructional Technologist at Timbers Elementary School for 17 years.
       Before that, Eileen taught 4th grade at Timbers for 6 years. Prior to coming to Humble ISD, she taught 2nd grade in Balwinsville, NY for 6 years, 6th grade for a year, and 1st grade in Decatur City Schools for a year and 1st grade in Pasadena ISD for a year. Eileen has been an educator for a total of 32 years in education. There will be a reception in her honor at Hector's in Atascocita on June 4 at 4:30 p.m.

    • Larry Rhodes
      AMS Special Education for the past two years. Before AMS, Larry worked for Humble ISD for 16 years teaching PE, health, journalism, English, and as a coach in basketball, football and golf. Larry has spent 14 years as a teacher and coach in Houston, and 29 years coaching basketball, baseball, football and golf. He has 16 district championships, 8 in football, 6 in basketball, one in baseball and one in golf. Larry has a total of 31 years in education.

    • Mary Roberts
      Technology/Business Instructor at Atascocita High School for the past 6 years. Prior to AHS, Mary taught technology/business for 11 years at Atascocita Middle School and for 6 years at Humble High School. Mary was also a secondary Instructional Technology Specialist in Dickinson for one year. She has been an educator for a total of 24 years.
    • Kathy Rosenbalm
      Lead GT & ESL Teacher at Hidden Hollow Elementary for the past 23 years. Kathy opened the Oaks and taught 3rd grade for 3 years. 
      She opened the Timbers and taught for 5 years as GT Lead, opened Pine Forest as the GT Lead for 1 year. She was  4th grade team leader at Forster for 3 years and was at Willow Creek for 1 year. Janice Wiederhold, asked her move with her to open Hidden Hollow, and she's been there for 23 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, she taught in Aldine ISD. Kathy has served as an educator for 38 years.

    • Josie Salumunek
      Facilitator for students with Visual Impairments, Student Support Services, Instructional Support Center for 24 years. Prior to coming to Humble ISD, Josie served in Ft. Worth for 3 years, and in Hurst-Euless-Bedford for 2 years for a total of 29 years. A reception in her honor will be held in Room 1005 of the Instructional Support Center on May 17 from 3-6 p.m.

    • Eileen Shellhouse
      RELA and Social Studies Co-teacher at Riverwood Middle School for the past 7 years. From 1979-2006 Eileen taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades and Special Education at Bear Branch Elementary School. Before coming to Humble ISD, Eileen taught 1st grade for 2 1/2 years in Illinois. Eileen has served as an educator for 36 years.

    • Keith Simmons
      Math teacher at Kingwood Park High School for the past four years. Before KPHS, Keith taught at Humble High School for 10 years and at Atascocita High School for three years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Keith taught at Dayton Middle School for one year for a total of 18 years in education.

    • Dena Steed
      Band Director at Humble High School for the past 29 years. Before that, Dena was Assistant Band Director at Kingwood High School for 3 years. She taught for 5 years in Garrison ISD and for 1 year in Clarksville ISD. Dena has been an educator for 38 years.

    • Carolyn Walsh
      Deaf Education Teacher at Oaks Elementary for the past two years. Before that, Carolyn taught at Oak Forest Elementary for 10 years, at Eagle Springs Elementary for 3 years, and at Lakeshore Elementary for two years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Carolyn taught for 5 years in Houston ISD, 2 years in Concord, NH, 3 years in Tunkhannock, PA, and for a year at private schools in PA. Carolyn has served as a educator for a total of 28 years.
    • Catherine (Cathy) T. Walvoord
      Classroom teacher at Humble Elementary School for 13 years. Prior to Humble Elementary, Cathy taught at Foster Elementary for 8 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Cathy taught at Ease Baton Rouge Parrish schools in Louisiana for 3 years, CyFair ISD for 3 years, and at Beaumont ISD for 3 years.       Biology/Health teacher, Head Tennis coach at Atascocita High School
      for 6 years. Before AHS, Ruben worked at Humble High School for 1 year and at Bryan High School for 4 years for a total of 11 years in education.

    • Marlon Farr
      Principal of Community Learning Center for the past 20 years.
      He taught science at the Discipline Program for 2 years before becoming the CLC principal. Before that, Marlon taught science at Kingwood Middle and Kingwood High for a year each, and Humble High School for 8 years. Before coming to Humble ISD he taught for 2 years in Channelview ISD. Marlon has served in educating students for a total of 34 years.       Before RSMS, Bea taught at Oaks Elementary for 7 years, Humble Ninth Grade for 12 years, and Humble High School for 1 year. Before coming to Humble ISD, Bea taught at Liberty-Eylau ISD for 3 years,Crosby ISD for 3 years and Sheldon ISD for 3 years. She has taught for a total of 34 years.

    • Tim Lovelady
      Fifth Grade Math/Science Teacher at Park Lakes Elementary for 3 years. Before PLE, Tim was a PE Teacher, Fifth Grade Teacher and Assistant Principal at Pine Forest Elementary, an Assistant Principal at Atascocita Middle School and an Assistant Principal at Timberwood Middle School. Prior to coming to Humble ISD, Judy was the Child Nutrition Director in Alto ISD for 3 years, CN Manager in Jacksonville ISD for 7 years, and CN Coordinator in Jacksonville for 4 years. Judy has served in Child Nutrition for a total of 24 years.

    • Lori Morris
      Second Grade Dual One-Way Teacher at Humble Elementary for the past 3 years. From 1996-1999 she was a first grade bilingual teacher at Humble Elementary. She taught Spanish at Hargrave High School in Huffman for 8 years and was a 3rd and 1st grade teacher in Houston ISD for 14 years, for a total of 29 years in education.

    • Tom O'Brien
      Alarm Technician in the Technology Services Department for the past 27 years. Before coming to Humble ISD, Tom worked in Port Arthur ISD's Maintenance Department as an electrician, for a total of 35 years serving Texas public schools.
    • Rubye Reed
      Rubye has served as Printer Operator in the Humble ISD Print Shop for 13 years.

    • Shirley Swan
      Second Grade Teacher at Woodland Hills Elementary for two years. Before that Shirley taught fifth grade at WHE for 8 1/2 years and special ed. for 8 1/2 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she taught for two years in Onalaska ISD and 15 years in Livingston ISD for a total of 36 years in education.

    • Nelly Vargas
      Cafeteria Manager at Timberwood Middle School for 13 years. Before that Nelly worked at HHS as a CN Specialist for 10 years, and at Oak Forest Elementary as an Intern Manager. She has served in nutrition services for children for a total of 24 years. Nelly has been a member of the Texas Association for School Nutrition for twenty years. She attended CN conferences, served as Treasurer for the Humble association and has been certified to level four for Child Nutrition.

    • Nancy Wolf
      Math Teacher at Community Learning Center in the PACE program for 10 years. Before that Nancy worked at Charter Hospital for 3 years, Kingwood Middle for a year, and Short Term Discipline for 3 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she taught at Pershing Jr. High in Houston ISD for 3 years, T.H. Rogers Vanguard Program in Houston ISD for 3 years, St. Anne Tri-Parish School in Beaumont for 2 years and at Northeast Christian Academy in Kingwood for 4 years.       Administration Assistant with Special Education. Helen has served the Special Education department in a variety of positions for 32 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she worked for 10 years in the Florida State Department of Education for a total of 42 years in education.       Head Football Coach/ Campus Athletic Coordinator at Kingwood High School for the past 9 years. Before KHS, Dougald was the Assistant Football Coach & Defensive Coordinator for HHS for 20 years, and Huffman ISD Athletic Director & Head Football Coach for two years, making a total of 31 years in education athletics.

    • Sherri Palmer
      Special Education Interventionist at Pine Forest Elementary. Sherri taught at PFE for 27 years. She is the last "original" teacher that helped open the school. Before PFE she was an interventionist at Timbers for 3 years, and worked in Shreveport, Louisiana, for 6 years for a total of 36 years in education. A reception will be held in her honor at 4 p.m. April 27 at Cedar Landing.
    • Genie Pearce
      A Reading/Language Arts teacher for 26 years at Creekwood Middle School, Genie also taught AVID for five of those years. Before Creekwood, Genie taught at Elm Grove Elementary for 7 years and before EGE she taught in Houston ISD for 3 years. Genie has served as an educator for a total of 36 years.

    • Vera Pearson
      Administrative Assistant to Humble High School Principal. Vera began in 1988 as an AP secretary, 4 1/2 years later she became the principal's secretary and has held that position for 19 1/2 years for a total of 24 years in education.

    • Leslie Pelak
      Life Skills Teacher at Kingwood Middle School for the past 2 years. Before that Leslie was a co-teacher at Kingwood Middle School.

    • Chris Reid
      Kingwood Middle School teacher for 26 years, with one year in math, 25 years in science.
      Before coming to Kingwood Middle School Chris taught Science for 1 year in Spring ISD and 3 years in Slidell, LA.  Chris has a total of 30 years in education.   A retirement reception is being held on May 31 at 2 p.m. in the Kingwood Middle School library.

      Social Studies teacher at Kingwood Middle School for 8 years. Before coming to KMS, Martha taught 5th grade at North Belt Elementary for 5 years and at Humble Middle School for 10 years.     • Jan Sherrill
      Reading Interventionist at Greentree Elementary for 9 years. Before that Jan taught 2nd grade at Greentree for 14 years, and was a long-term substitute for 1 year, for a total of 24 years at Greentree. Before coming to Humble ISD, Jan taught for 5 years in Louisiana and a year in Mississippi for a total of 30 years in education.

    • Lanell Smesny
      Principal of North Belt Elementary for 3 years, Lanell was an Assistant Principal at NBE for 11 years and taught at Willow Creek Elementary for 9 years. Before coming to Humble ISD she taught at Lewisviille ISD and McKinney ISD for a total of 26 years in education.

      Attendance Specialist at Humble High School for 12 years. Before that Cassie was a Life Skills Para-Professional at HHS for 10 years and for one year was a Custodian at Admin., AC, and HHS for a total of 23 years in education.
    • Paul (Buddy) Thames
      Head Baseball Coach at Kingwood Park High School for the past 5 years. Prior to KPHS, Buddy did Football & Baseball at KHS from 2003-07 and Football & Baseball at HHS from 1992-2001. Before coming to Humble ISD, Buddy worked in Huffman ISD, New Caney ISD, Aldine ISD, Fort Worth area, Alvin ISD, Mt. Pleasant ISD, Eustace ISD, Athens ISD, Alice, ISD, and Klein ISD, for a total of 40 years in Education/Athletics.

    • Anita Tofte
      DAEP Special Education Teacher for 2 years.
      Anita started in 1981 at Humble Middle School, staying in the same building when it changed to Humble Ninth Grade campus. She then moved to Quest High School for 4 years, then on to DAEP. Before coming to Humble ISD, Anita worked in Lewisville ISD and in Aubrey, Texas in the Sanger Co-op. She has a total of 36 years in education.

    • Mary Trichel
      6th Grade World Cultures Teacher at Atascocita Middle for 13 years. Mary also taught Language Arts/Journalism at AMS for 1 year. Before coming to Humble ISD, Mary taught at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Houston, Dean Morgan Jr. High in Casper, Wyoming, Tecumseh High School in Oklahoma, and 8 years in Fort Bend ISD, for a total of 27 years in education.
