  • Kindergarten Non-digital Math Activities

     

    • Help your parents sort the items in your dishwasher/dish drain! For example, sort all spoons together, all forks together, etc… 
    • Tell a family member how your two favorite toys are the same and different. For example: they both are made of plastic. 
    • One is a truck and one is a ball. Make an ABB and an AAB pattern using items found around your house! Don’t forget to look inside, outside and all around your house. (For example an ABB pattern would be: cereal, bean, bean; cereal, bean, bean). 
    • Weight??? Hold an object in each hand. Tell which is heavier and which is lighter. Complete activity 4 times using different items. 
    • Feet Measurement Measure the following items using your feet as a measuring tool! Length of Couch Length of Bed Length of Tub
    • Roll the Dice Roll the dice, count the dots and write the number. Roll Dice 5 times! 
    • War Game Use Playing Cards, Ace-10, play War with a partner. (Lesser Number takes cards) 
    • Count how many ears that are in your family. Then, count fingers. Which is more? 
    • Find 3-D Shapes Locate a cylinder, cube, rectangular prism (box), pyramid and sphere shapes in your house or outside!
    • Math Writing- Draw a rainbow with a pot of gold at the end. Write your numbers 1-20 at the bottom.
    • Practice representing the numbers 8, 12, and 16. Use a picture, tally marks, ten frames, number line, and equations.
    • Count how many windows, doors, and chairs that are in your house. Write the numbers down.
    • Look in the pantry. Tally how many boxes, cans, bags. Which had the most? Which had the least?

    Kindergarten Non-digital Science Activities

     

    • Go for a Nature Walk and look for Living and Non-Living Objects (for example: Living- flower, bird Non-Living - rock, sidewalk) 
    • Choose 5 items from your house and predict/confirm whether they will sink or float. 
    • Tell parents the parts of a plant: stem, petal, root, leaf etc. Go outside and see if you can find examples of each. 
    • Record the daily weather. Predict tomorrow’s weather. Check predictions daily. (cloudy, sunny, rainy, windy)
