The Kingwood Middle School Orchestra is made up students in grades 6-8. Orchestra classes meet everyday during the regular school day and students receive grades for their work. Instruction is offered on violin, viola, cello and bass.

Note KMS Beginning Orchestra consists of students who have had no previous experience playing the stringed instruments of the orchestra: violin, viola, cello and bass. These students consist mainly of sixth graders, however, there are some exceptions. This orchestra is divided up into two separate classes of equal level. Students will learn proper instrument position and posture, note- and rhythm-reading skills, proper right- and left-hand technique, and proper rehearsal and concert etiquette. Both class periods are combined during bassany additional rehearsals and performances.
