Chemical and Physical Properties and the Lake Houston Watershed

    DRIVING QUESTION: What can we, as Chemistry Students, do to help correct the effects of Hurricane Harvey on the Lake Houston Watershed?

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Problem: Students are working in conjunction with other campuses & teachers in the district to explore how the Lake Houston Watershed has been impacted since Hurricane Harvey.  Student Role: Students are responsible for understanding the importance of a watershed and how it impacts the community. They will research how the Lake Houston Watershed has been impacted by Hurricane Harvey and then disseminate their findings to the community through speeches, video & elementary books. Some students will travel to Humble Elementary School to collect water samples from the area creeks and work with the elementary students to discuss the project and conduct simple testing together.
