At Atascocita Middle School, teachers provide gifted and talented services to identified students through Pre-Ap courses in the four content areas: RELA, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. Additionally, AMS offers extracurricular activities that support academic interests and foster intellectual curiosity. Please contact your grade level office for a current list of these extracurricular activities.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate professional quality work in alignment with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted and Talented Students through the completion of the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP). TPSP embodies the Humble ISD Portrait of a Graduate by developing the inner communicator, innovator, and personally responsible citizen all our students can be.
G/T Referral and Testing – Grades K-12:
Any students in grades K-12 may be referred to the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program through the district referral link found here (Link).
Students in grades K-12 are eligible to test for the Gifted/Talented program after a referral is received. All testing will take place on our campus and the information from the testing will go to a building selection committee to determine eligibility.
If you have any questions about the referral or assessment process, please request information from Jennifer Turner at (281) 641-4759 or at Jennifer.Turner@humbleisd.net.
