Supplemental Retirement Plans: 403(b) and 457(b)

As an employee of Humble ISD, you can choose to supplement your retirement by making payroll contributions to a 403(b) or 457(b) retirement savings account. You can enroll in or change contribution amounts at any time.
For 2022, both plans have a maximum employee contribution of $20,500 / year ($27,000 for employees 50 and older).
403(b) and 457(b) are optional retirement savings accounts. Contributions are made on a pre-tax basis. You are eligible to receive benefits at age 59.5, even if you are still employed. A list of 403b Approved Vendors and 457(b) approved vendors and the online salary reduction agreement will help you to learn more and get started.You will also need to go to the Humble ISD Retirement Portal to complete a salary deferral for the new retirement account. The change may take up to two payroll periods to take effect.
