Mrs. Marissa Sanchez
Hello, and welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to be learning, playing, and growing with your child! This will be an exciting year as we build the foundation for learning in our classroom. My goal is to encourage our students to become life long learners, to build confidence in their abilities, and to become global citizens not only in our classroom, but beyond and into their community.
I am married, to my supportive husband, Ruben, and we have two kiddos, Elias and Eliana. Ruben and I have been married since January 2007, and we enjoy taking our kids to the Frio river every summer. Elias, my son, is 7 years old and is all boy! He loves all things ninja, wrestling, and sports. My daughter, Eliana, is 4 years old, she loves playing dress up, being a "mommy" to her baby dolls, and "cooking" for the whole family in her kitchen.
I graduated from the University of Houston and am a proud Coog. I have previously taught in Humble ISD at North Belt Elementary in kindergarten, and at Oaks Elementary as a first grade teacher. After a few years away from teaching an exciting opportunity to teach at the preschool level was available to me, I have been teaching pre-k 3 and pre-k 4 at Weekday Learning Center at Atascocita United Methodist Church since August 2016. Through this program I have helped to grow the minds of our preschool learners through play-based learning and hands on experiences.
Also, I grew up in the Humble area, and am familiar with the school district. I became a teacher because I enjoy the challenge in helping others find success. My intention is to provide my students with meaningful and concrete learning experiences that will apply to all areas of their lives. I believe this can be accomplished through the use of hands-on activities, cooperative learning, an integrated curriculum, and technology.
I look forward to getting to know your little ones this year, and to working hand in hand with you to grow and develop their minds and spirits! Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. I am so excited about the year to come and cannot wait to get started!
