    Guidance and Counseling

The mission of school counselors in Humble ISD is to provide a comprehensive supportive service to address student needs. As advocates for all students, counselors encourage personal growth and enhance student success through a proactive developmental program. Counselors teach guidance lessons to provide an awareness of skills necessary in everyday life and to promote the development and application of these skills. In addition, counselors facilitate small groups to address specific issues or meet with students individually to address immediate concerns.

Consultation with teachers and parents further assists students in becoming more successful in the learning process. The privacy rights of students and their families are protected to the extent possible according to legal and ethical guidelines. The Humble ISD student support system offers a proactive, collaborative problem-solving team to address individual student academic or behavioral concerns. Please contact the campus counselor to initiate this process.

Counseling services are available to any student unless specifically prohibited by written request from the parent or guardian. Parent permission is required for participation in group counseling.

Counselors provide information about award-of-credit options, credit by examination, helpful scholarship information, and steps you can take in middle and high school to keep college costs down.
