• Program Goals

    At the elementary level, the Humle ISD guidance and counseling program promotes academic and affective learning by assisting students in developing the skills and attitudes neccessary to be successful learners.  Humble ISD's Developmental Guidance and Counseling Program has four components. 

    The components include:  

    Guidance Curriculum 

    This incudes structured experiences presented systematically through classroom and group activities from prekindergarten through graduation.  The curriculum emphasixes The great 8: Skills for Daily Life.  

     Individual Planning

    This component includes counseling activities to assist students to plan, monitor, and manage their own academic achievement as well as their personal and career development.   

    Responsive Services 

    Includes counseling or referral activities to meet the immediate needs and concerns of students.   

    System Support

    Includes indirect guidance management activities that maintain the total educational program.
