Meet Ms. Boston
Hi! My name is Briana Boston, and I'm grateful to be teaching 2nd grade this year at Groves. I grew up here in Humble, Texas and am proud to be back in my home district.
I recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development- Elementary Education. As a teacher, I foster a strong sense of community and belonging in my classroom. I guide my students to be problem solvers and passionate readers with a love of learning.
I describe myself as thoughtful, kindhearted, and motivated. Living in Austin, I spent most of my time reading and volunteering at animal shelters (Austin Animal Center and Austin Pets Alive). I care about animals and enjoy being around cats and dogs. I have a dog named Charlie whom I adore. She is a black Havanese. I also like watching movies and talking about superheroes with my little brother, Jaxon.
My goal as an educator is to cultivate in my students a willingness to seek and understand others as well as the world around them. Valuing those around you is the first step in discovering how each of us contribute to/impact the world. By doing so, we can love and care for one another and become eager to grow together. This is when learning begins to happen deeply, naturally, and consistently.
"Be who you needed when you were younger."
