Humble ISD School Board approves $4,000 compensation increase for teachers and raises pay for staff members districtwide
While new state legislation required Humble ISD to spend about $7 million on raises, the Humble ISD School Board allocated more than $18 million to upgrade compensation because of the district’s commitment to attracting and retaining the best staff.

Deerwood Elementary second grade students took ownership of their learning through a recent historical figures project-based learning assignment. Through research, writing, project planning and design, the students created their own original monuments for famous historical figures.

Humble High School Honors Local Veterans at Wildcat Salute
Each year the Humble High School Wildcat Veterans Day Salute commemorates military veterans for their service and sacrifice. On display is a replication of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which serves as a memorial to service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and remain unknown.

Oct. 3, FEMA and the FCC are conducting a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System.
Cell phone users should expect a message beginning at 1:18 p.m. Central Standard Time. The message will read, “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” The message will broadcast to cell towers for about 30 minutes. Cell phone users should only receive the message one time.

Humble ISD School Board’s authorization of 2017 reappraisals bringing checks to taxpayers whose reappraisal amount has resulted in a refund
The Humble ISD School Board unanimously approved an order authorizing the reappraisal of property tax values for 2017 in support of taxpayers impacted by the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey. As a result of that action, checks will go out this fall to taxpayers whose reappraisal amount has resulted in a refund.
