Humble ISD Administration Building
611 Higgins Street
In 1973, the district began work on converting the old Charles Bender High School building (611 Higgins Street) for use as an administration building.
In May 1973, the firm of Wyatt C. Hendricks Architects & Engineers, Inc. presented preliminary drawings on renovation of the building. The board tabled discussion on those plans until a later time.
By October 1973, new plans for renovation of the building were done by Nix, Spencer, Herolz & Durham, Inc. and accepted by the board. The contract to renovate the building was awarded to Lee Rowe Construction Company for $106,385.
In November 1973, the contract for paving the parking lot was awarded to Bumgardner Cement Construction Company for $9,477.
The new administration building was ready and move-in began in January 1974.
The building was used as the central administration building until February 1992.
