    Frances Hyde

    Frances Ruth Hyde was born March 17, 1888 in San Saba County, Texas.  She was the daughter of Richard Blocker Hyde and Nancy Smith.  She had two sisters, Willyne Hyde and Grace Hyde.

    Frances R. Hyde was a lifelong teacher, and never married.

    She taught in Humble for five years: 1914-15, 1915-16, 1916-17, 1917-18, 1918-19.

    She was Principal of the high school grades in the Humble School at the beginning of the 1917-18 school-year, and then was the first Principal of Humble High School when it opened in January 1918.  She stayed on as Principal of Humble High School during the 1918-19 school-year.

    She taught in San Saba County in 1920.1

    She taught in Brownwood, Texas during the 1942s.2

    She died on February 22, 1978, at the age of 89.3  She is buried in the Varga Chapel Cemetery in Bowser, San Saba County, Texas.
