    The Lake Houston Family YMCA offers after school child care until 6:30 p.m. at every HISD elementary school. What an excellent opportunity for your child to receive after school care in an environment that they are very familiar with - their own school! Children are provided a healthy snack, an opportunity to complete homework, a variety of self-directed activities, special projects, arts and crafts, and indoor/outdoor recreational play under the supervision of trained and caring YMCA staff. The program is licensed by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services (TDFPS) and all YMCA staff are trained in CPR, AED, First Aid and child abuse prevention.

    The kindergarten program is available from 1:50 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. for $165 per month and an extended kindergarten program from 1:50 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is available for $280 per month. The program is available for students in grades 1-5 from 3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for $255 per month. Part-time care (1-2 days per week) is also available for a reduced fee.

    Additionally, the YMCA provides after school care to students with disabilities at their home campuses. All students must complete an evaluation prior to entering the program. Activities include non-competitive games, special events and outdoor play that . This program is in partnership with Humble ISD Special Education Parent Council, Village Learning Center and the Lake Houston Family YMCA.

    YMCA Full Service Members will receive a discount on monthly dues per child and Humble ISD employees will receive a 10 percent discount on monthly dues per child. As with all YMCA programs, limited financial assistance is available to families who substantiate a need.
