What is the PACE Program?
The Program for Accelerated Education or PACE is a Dropout Prevention Program for students who are at-risk of not finishing high school. This program provides high school students with the opportunity to learn and earn credit for courses they missed or failed. PACE provides at-risk students with an alternative academic setting in which to earn a high school diploma and still graduate with classmates at their home high school campus.
PACE is a small and student centered, alternative academic program. Admittance in the program requires a recommendation from the home-campus counselor, as well as an application and interview process. Applications may be printed from this site or obtained from counselors on one of the six main high school campuses.
PACE is designed for upper-grade level students who lack a small number of credits in order to graduate. High School Seniors receive first priority for admittance into the program. Pregnant students and those with children may also find flexibility in the PACE program that will meet their individual needs.
OFSDP - Optional Flexible School Day Program
Students attending PACE participate in the Optional Flexible School Day Program (OFSDP). It allows Humble ISD to provide flexible hours and days of attendance for students who meet at least one of the requirements of the Texas Education Code 29.0822(a). The goal of the program is to improve graduation rates for students who are in danger of dropping out of school, have dropped out, or are behind in core subject courses.
