Hola! 

     Me llamo Melissa Hearn y seré la maestra de tercer grado de sus hijos. Tengo doce anos de estar dando clases en primaria, diez de ellos en tercer grado. Tengo 15 años de casada y tengo 2 hermosos hijos: Dylan de 13 años quien cursa el septimo año, y Aaron de 10 años quien cursa tercero de primaria.

Mis antecedentes:

Soy nacida en California y viví en Guadalajara 16 años. En Guadalajara estudié y me gradué como Medico Cirujano y Partero.  Despues de 8 años estudié para hacerme educadora aqui en Houston.

¿Cual es mi visión y mis creencias?

Mi forma de enseñar es de manera divertida, utilizando varios métodos. La tecnología juega un papel importante, ya que es indispensable en estos tiempos. Además, tenemos que hacer conecciones con la vida real y no quedarnos en lo que dice un libro. Mi misión es que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de entender por medio de la creación en vez de seguir algo monótono. La interacción entre los compañeros de clase es sumamente importante para el crecimiento de los niños y el aprendizaje entre ellos. Ustedes como padres serán testigos de cómo el estudiante se convertirá en el maestro!

Hello! 

     My name is Melissa Hearn and I will be your children's third grade teacher. I have been teaching elementary school for twelve years, ten of them in third grade. I have been married for 15 years and have 2 beautiful children: Dylan, 13, who is in seventh grade, and Aaron, 10, who is in third grade.

My background:

I was born in California and lived in Guadalajara for 16 years. In Guadalajara I studied and graduated as a Surgeon and Midwife. After 8 years I studied to become an educator here in Houston.

What is my vision and beliefs?

My way of teaching is in a fun way, using several methods. Technology plays an important role, since it is essential nowadays. In addition, we have to make connections with real life situations and not use a book as a sole resource. My mission is for students to have the ability to understand through creation instead of following something monotonous. The interaction between classmates is extremely important for their growth and learning among themselves. You as parents will witness how the student will become the teacher!
