• Welcome Wildcats, I am Mrs. Dickey, a 7th Grade RELA and ESL teacher at Humble Middle School. I have been a teacher for 13 years. This will be my first year teaching at Humble Middle School. I am certified to teach grades 4-8 Generalist. I am also certified to teach ELS students. I come from a long line of educators.Teaching is in my blood, so it just comes natural to me. I'm extremely excited about this school year!! 

    My goal is to help our students grow as readers and writers. For my 7th Grade RELA Classes, I teach using an interactive notebook. My lessons follow this pattern: anchor chart, teacher model, group activity, and independent practice. So I follow the I do, We do , You do Gradual Release Model. We also read independently everyday for 10 minutes and write a reader's response. 

    For my ESL Reading Classes, we use Rosetta Stone and other computer based programs to learn English. I pull small groups everyday and we work on our listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
