TX-20092 AFJROTC Cadets excel again!
The KPHS AFJROTC Cadets were outstanding during the Hargraves Military Skills Meet this past weekend. They competed against 15 other JROTC units at this Army competition; three of those JROTC units are also from Humble ISD. The KP cadets placed 2nd Overall being edge out by New Caney Army JROTC for first. Both the male and female Obstacle Course Teams earned 1st place finishes with the boys completion time less than half the next closest finisher. What else is special about this course is that the Army schools practice on that course regularly. This was the first time ever for the KP cadets to compete a female obstacle course team and they were awesome. The girl's Physical Fitness Team garnered a second place finish. The orienteering team also finished in second place in their event. In addition, the team earned our first ever Wall Climbing Trophy, a 3rd place finish in only our second attempt at wall climbing. The male color guard placed 3rd this year after winning this event a year ago and the marksmanship team vastly improved over our previous best finish but did not place. We are very proud of this marksmanship team because it is comprise mostly of freshmen cadets.
