G/T Referral and Testing – Grades K-12:

Any students in grades K-12 may be referred for the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program between November 10 and December 19th, 2014. Parents or teachers may refer students for testing. If you would like to refer your child, please request information from our counselor, Criscilla Hensley (281-641-1807), or our campus testing coordinator, Elaine Green (281-641-1829).

Students in grades K-12 are eligible to test for the Gifted/Talented program after a referral is received. All testing will take place on our campus during a window between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement in the G/T program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015.

Dear Oaks Parents,

Oaks Elementary will host a parent and student family adventure night at the Children’s Museum of Houston.  You and your child will take a tour of the museum. There will be family fun, filled math and science activities aligned to the TEKS to help improve your child’s skills.  Students will be able take home math activities.

There will be an opportunity for you to purchase snacks and souvenirs during the visit.

The date is Thursday, February 5, 2015

Bus will depart from Oaks at 4:30 pm and return at 9:00 pm

Please complete the interest form and return to Mrs. Hensley by January 22, 2015.  It is important that you return your interest form, so transportation can be scheduled to accommodate all who are planning to ride the bus.

Parent must accompany their children on the trip. No children under the age of 4 years old

If you are not attending or riding the bus, please do not return this form.

Contact Mrs. Hensley at 281-641-1890, for questions.
