SLANT
is a simple, easy-to-remember technique for helping students increase their contributions to and benefits from group instruction and class discussion. Developed at the University of Kansas School of Education as a technique for helping college athletes, SLANT has proven to be an effective method for keeping students engaged in learning.
S- Sit in front
You tend to listen and pay attention if you sit in the front.
L- Learn forward
Leaning forward helps you to focus on the teacher.
A- Ask questions
Don't be afraid to ask questions. You might be asking questions that many others want to know the answer to.
N- Nod your head
Nodding your head gives a visual to the teacher that you understand what is being said.
T- Talk to the teacher
Get to know your teacher. By talking to your teacher you make yourself known.
