A+ Certification (1)
A+ Certification is a vendor neutral certification provided by CompTIA that is internationally recognized as a validation of the technical knowledge and skills. It serves as a credential for anyone who desires to work in the area of computer repair and technical support. The A+ Academy Training Program prepares individuals for a career as a computer technician in the information technology industry. This full year course covers the various responsibilities and tasks required for a computer technician to successfully perform in a business environment. The course topics include basic software and operating system concepts and complex hardware topics. The topics covered in this course will include PC Architecture, peripheral devices, Windows 3.x,Windows 9x, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 and XP Professional Operating systems, basic troubleshooting and repair. The program also covers hardware configuration and setup, software configuration, software techniques, basic networking, peer-to-peer LAN (local area networks) and client/server networks. This year we have two instructors that are teaching the A+ Academy:Scott Ford and Robert McAndrews. Each bring their own unique experiences to the classroom and are able to challenge the most intelligent student.
CISCO Academy (1)
The Cisco Networking Academy Training Program prepares individuals for a career as a network specialist in the information technology industry. This course covers the various tasks and responsibilities required for a networking professional to successfully perform in a busines environment. The course topics include Computing Basics, the OSI Networking Model, Local-Area Networks (LANs), Electronics and Signals, Networking Media, Connects and Collisions, Technologies TCP/IP, IP Addressing, Subnetworking and Protocols in Semester 1. In Semester 2, the course covers WANs and Routers, Router Command-Line Interface, Router Components, Router Startup and Setup, Router Configuration, Routing Protocols and Network Troubleshooting. The CCNA program is divided into four semesters designed to prepare students to take the CCNA Certification Exam. Semesters 3 and 4 of the CCNA curriculum will be offered beginning in the 2002-2003 school year. The entire CCNA program is also offered at Kingwood College. The CCNA Exams are given by independent test centers. Scheduling and payment of certification exams are the responsibility of the student.

PreEngineering (1)
Pre-Engineering offers students the change to explore some of the most exciting career opportunities in our technical world. This project based learning lab uses some of the most advanced training systems in the world. Students will have the opportunity to explore Robotics, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Structural Engineering, Pneumatics, Electrical Controls, Computer Controls, Thermal Systems, Mechanical Systems, Plastic Injection Molding, Materials Testing and Identification, Engineering Measurements, Computer Numeric Control Milling (CNC), and AC/DC Electrical Systems. This course is designed to take a student from a novice to having a working knowledge of the academics, personal, organizational skills needed to be successful in Engineering and related fields.

Students will engage in beginning and intermediate techniques in web page design, coding with HTML using Notepad.  Students will take a working knowledge of HTML into the study of Macromedia Dreamweaver, as they learn to create webpages using web editing software.  Students will work with graphics, fonts, and color while applying principles of good layout and design in the creation of websites.
Web II (1)

Prerequisite: Webmastering I, Application approval
Students will engage in advanced techniques in web creation, graphic design, animation for the web, and project management. Students will work with HTML, PhotoShop, Flash, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver. In addition, students will also work with Dynamic HTML, CSS, and Java Script. To be successful in this course, students must have a strong knowledge of HTML and be able to work at their own pace to meet project deadlines.
