1)  Q How many students will there be at K-Park?
A
There will be approximately 1,600 students which classifies the school as a 4A high school.
2)  Q Who will go to K-Park?
A
K-Park will house all KMS students and 300 district transfer students. The transfer students will include all those who want to take advantage of K-Park's unique programs and/or want greater personalization that a smaller school can offer.
3)  Q When will K-Park open?
A
K-Park will open August 2007 as a 9th and 10th grade campus, adding an additional grade level each year thereafter. We will open in the fall of 2009 as a 9th-12th grade school.
4)  Q How many periods a day will there be, and when will the school day end?
A
K-Park will still follow the modified block seven period schedule.
5)  Q Will K-Park have all the same options for athletic teams as KHS has?
A
Yes! All sports teams that compete at the varsity level at KHS will also be available at K-Park.
6)  Q Which neighborhoods will be going to K-Park?
A
All students that now attend KMS will feed K-Park, and that is all of Forest Cove, Trailwood, Woodland Hills, Elm Grove, and some of Bear Branch.
7)  Q What is the mascot and how was it chosen?
A
The mascot is a black panther because the black panther once roamed this area in the early 1800's.
8)  Q How did the school get the name Kingwood Park High School?
A
Humble ISD central administration determined the name.
9)  Q Will K-Park have a school store?
A
A school store ran by studnets in a business or economics class would fit the K-Park service-learning, student-centered philosophy nicely. K-Park is all about academics in action.
10)  Q When will the school be finished?
A
K-Park will be completed in the late spring/early summer of "07.
11)  Q If I have a brother or sister that will be finishing high school at KHS, may I still go to K-Park?
A
KMS students will attend K-Park even if their oder brothers and sisters attend KHS.
12)  Q What are the school colors of K-Park?
A
The school colors will be black, silver, and forest green.
13)  Q Will the dress code be the same at both high schools?
A
The dress code will continue to abide by regulations outlined in the Humble ISD handbook that every secondary school in the district follows.
14)  Q How many lunch periods will there be at K-Park?
A
We may need 3, possibly 4 lunch periods.
15)  Q Will K-Park compete against KHS?
A
No, K-Park will be a 4A school and KHS will be a 5A school.
16)  Q How is the school district going to be able to afford uniforms for 4 high schools now for all the various sports teams?
A
Each campus will pay for uniforms through the operating costs.
17)  Q Is K-Park going to have a swimming pool?
A
Yes, K-Park will have a natatorium.
18)  Q Is K-Park going to have a football stadium, and if not where will their home field be?
A
K-Park sub-varsity teams will play at the K-Park field. Varsity teams will play at Turner Stadium. The athletic coordinator will schedule these events probably on a rotating basis based on home and away games.
19)  Q Will there be a drill team at K-Park, and if so what would they be called?
A
There will be a drill team, but the name has not yet been decided.
20)  Q Will each student have his own locker and are the lockers going to be the same size?
A
Each student will have his/her own locker; however, they have not been ordered yet, so we don't know the exact size.
21)  Q Are a lot of the same teachers going to stay at K-Park who are now teaching at the 9th Grade Campus?
A
Many of the same outstanding teachers who are now at K-9 will continue to teach at K-Park. Additional teachers will need to be hired to meet the needs of a four year school.
22)  Q Is the library going to change since the school will be larger?
A
The size of the library will not be altered; however, we will add databases and books to our collection.

Yes, KPHS will have a wide variety of options for lunch.
25)  Q Currently, how old is the 9th Grade Campus?
A
This is the thirteenth year that the 9th Grade Campus has been open.
26)  Q Will the students be able to drive to school and will parking be available?
A
Parking will be available to juniors and seniors.
27)  Q Can you transfer to K-Park after you begin at KHS?
A
K-Park will allow 75 transfers for each grade level. Transfers will be open to anyone until spaces are filled.
