Answers
1)  Q When is the library open?
A
The library opens every morning at 8:00. It closes every day at 4:00. To use the library computers before school for research or printing, you'll need a pass from a teacher or a note from home.
2)  Q May I come the the library before school?
A
The library is open for book check-out at 8:00. If you need to use the library before school, you must have a pass from a teacher or parent. The pass should include the date.
3)  Q May I come to the library during lunch?
A
No, but you can come during advisory with a pass from your teacher after announcements, Channel One, and advisory lessons.
4)  Q How many items may I check out at a time?
A
You may have 2 items checked out at a time. For example, you may have 2 books checked out or 1 book and 1 magazine.
5)  Q How long may I keep a book I have checked out?
A
Two weeks. If you need a book longer than two weeks, bring it to the library to renew.
6)  Q The book I want is always checked out. May I put books on hold?
A
Yes! To put a book on hold:
  • Click on "Destiny" icon on desktop (red book).
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click on the "LOGIN" rectangle.
  • Use the same login as you used to login to the computer.
  • Search for the book in the catalog (Destiny).
  • Click on the title from the search results. Make sure you're choosing the copy you want by looking at the call number.
  • Click on "Hold it!" in the upper right hand corner.
  • We'll send it to you or send you a note saying you need to turn something in before checking out the reserved book.
  • If you have overdue items, your hold will be deleted. :(
  • You may place up to three titles on hold.
7)  Q Does the TMS library have books on CD?
A
Yes! The call number for books on CD is "CD." The call number for books that accompany the audiobook is "CDT." To see what audiobooks are in the TMS collection, click on "Visual Search" on the left of the screen. Because of the limited number of titles, reading classes have first priority in their check-out. We also have CD players for use with audiobooks.
8)  Q Can magazines be checked out?
A
Yes! You can check out magazines for 5 days.
9)  Q I'd like to use the online reference sources at home. Where can I get the passwords?
A
Passwords for our online reference sources are at the Circulation Desk. It's VERY good you're using these excellent sources!
10)  Q May I buy school supplies in the library?
A
Yes! Please use the School Store before school from 8:15 - 8:30.
11)  Q Is there a copy machine in the library?
A
Yes. Each copy is 10 cents.
12)  Q May we print from the library computers?
A
Yes; black and white pages are 10 cents each and color pages are 50 cents each.
