AVID is a college preparatory elective class designed to challenge those students who would not otherwise take an Honors course or for those students who need extra support to remain in an Honors class.   

Our AVID elective teacher and Site Coordinator is Michelle Painter-Wheeler.

AVID OBJECTIVES

To provide academic instruction and other support to students and to prepare them for eligibility to 4 year colleges and universities.

To improve organzational skills

To improve critical thinking skills

To increase student involvement in community service

To empower average students to achieve academic excellence

To prepare students for entry into the most rigorous high school courses
