Welcome to the Ross Sterling Middle School's Award Winning Orchestra program! As performing groups, the Sterling Middle School orchestras have established a tradition of excellence that is due to the hard work of the students and the support of their families. My goal is for the students to competently perform on a string instrument as well as foster a sense of pride in their abilities, a deep love and enjoyment of music, and an appreciation of its value in society.

Being in orchestra offers much more than just concerts in which the students will play and the families will hear. There are many field trips to fun events like Schlitterbahn Water Park, the Houston Symphony, Houston Aeros Hockey Game and field trips to see other groups perform. The students will also be challenged both physically and mentally in ways unique to the musical experience and in a manner that has been recognized as a force to stimulate social and intellectual growth. Families, as an integral part of the learning environment, will be provided with all the information they will need to guide their student's practice and help further encourage growth and positive improvement.
