       Welcome to Whispering Pines Elementary!
 

I look forward to working with you to provide the best possible care for your children.  In order to do this, I am asking for your help in maintaining a healthy environment for your children as well as the other children in our school.

 

 
Children should be kept home from school for the following reasons:

 

1.      has had a temperature of 100.4 degrees or more in the last 24 hours

2.      has any vomiting the night before, or the morning of school

3.      has diarrhea the night before, or the day of school

4.      a persistent cough

5.      a continually runny nose with white, green, or yellow mucus

6.       eyes that appear red and weeping

7.      a rash of unknown cause anywhere on the body

 

 
Hygiene
February and March is designated for teaching Good Hygiene and Dental Practices.  The KG, 1st and 2nd graders have received their information and new tooth brushes.  Parents, please remind you child to brush their teeth at least 3 times a day, shampoo their hair, bath daily and use deordorant (if age appropriate).
 
4 & 5th Grade Parents,

I will be teaching Growth and Development April 15th -19th.  Students MUST have a Parent Permission to attend.   Permission slips will be sent home on Wednesday, April 10th and returned by Friday, April 12th.

 
 KG & 1st Grade Parents, please keep a change of clothes in your child's backbpack in case of a wetting accident or getting muddy on the playground.
 
 
When calling the absence line to report an  illness, please give the specific symptoms such as fever over 101, sore throat, stomach illness...
