    • A workshop will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the Administration Building Board Room to assist you in writing your essays. Attendance is optional.

  • What happens after I submit the applications?

    The District Teacher of the Year Selection Committee will evaluate the applications submitted and select 10 teachers as finalists. Both elementary and secondary teachers must be included in the group of 10 finalists. If chosen as a finalist, you will:

    • Interview with the committee on Monday, March 6, 2017. Following the interviews, the committee will choose an Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year. From these two honorees, the committee selects one as District Teacher of the Year.

    • Attend the Humble ISD Education Foundation Gala on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Humble Civic Center. The Foundation will comp a ticket for each finalist and his or her guest. Finalists will be honored at the Gala, and the Elementary and/or Secondary Teacher of the Year and District Teacher of the Year will be announced.

  • What if I win?

    • The District Teacher of the Year and the Elementary or Secondary Teacher of the Year will represent Humble ISD in the Region 4 Teacher of the Year Contest. This will require answering additional essay questions, which will be evaluated at the Region 4 Education Service Center. Regional winners become semifinalists in the State Teacher of the Year contest.

    • All Campus Teachers of the Year, District Finalists, the Elementary or Secondary Teacher of the Year and the District Teacher of the Year will be honored throughout the 2017-2018 school year!
