Humble ISD BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)
The BYOD policy at Humble ISD allows middle and high school students to use their
own mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other internet-accessing devices
at school in certain situations.
students live in a world where technology is embedded in everything
they do. While many young people use technology for entertainment and to
socialize, they also will need to know how to use technology
appropriately in more formal academic and professional settings. By
permitting students to use personal technology devices, schools help
students be better prepared for college and the workforce. Additionally,
the new procedures support teachers in their use of apps and
internet-based materials that engage students in curriculum content.
The new policy is part of the updated Responsible Use Guidelines (R.U.G.) and can be found in the Student Handbook.
