The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program was established in 1979 to encourage Texas children to read more books, explore a variety of current books, develop powers of discrimination, and identify their favorite books.
  • Students in the 3rd through 6th grades are invited to participate.
  • Students need to have read or heard read at least five of the current master list titles to be eligible to vote for their favorite Bluebonnet book in January.
  • Students in grades 3,4 and 5 are asked to read and complete an Individual Reading Chart for each title read. The form is listed below. I will also be setting up a blog for students to comment on each title they read. We will vote in January. The author of the book receiving the most votes statewide is the recipient of the Texas Bluebonnet Award.
