Student Directories

All student directories will be limited to 500 MB as of January 17, 2005.  When the student folder exceeds
this amount, a prompted message will indicate the individual
directory needs to be cleaned out.

Students will not be allowed to save into their folder until unnecessary files have been eliminated.

Outcome:

  • Campus servers will remain "healthy" and reduce
    the amount of down time
  • Students will practice file management techniques
as per the Technology TEKS for all students

The student common folder is visible to all students,

teachers,

 IT's and Principals on campus

Rights:

  • Students will have the rights to open and save items in the student common folder.

Expectations:

  • Students are expected to use moral and ethical guidelines in making appropriate decisions regarding use of the student common directory.  Use of the student common directory is not a right, but a privlege and inappropriate use will result in cancellation of that privilege.  School and district administrators will decide what constitutes inappropriate use of the student common directory.  Their decision is final.  At school, student access to and use of the student common directory will be under teacher direction and will be monitored as any other classroom activity; however, the school district cannot prevent the possibility that some users may use the student common directory in ways that are not consistent with the educational mission, goals and policies of the school district.

*Any file outside of a Teacher's folder will be deleted.

*Technology Services Division will delete all files from the common folders on all campuses at a designated time at the end of each year to maintain the network and ensure that it runs efficiently.

*Technology Services will not be expected to restore files to the student folders.
