Students are able to recover course credits as determined by their respective counselor. District curriculum is provided online using the Plato software program. This includes required subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Biology, IPC, Chemistry, English, History, Geography, Health, Communication Applications and TAKS Prep. Course material is presented in modules. Mastery tests require a minimum score of 80. Instructor works with and encourages students on a daily basis and routinely monitors their progress. Three week evaluation reports show percentage of course completion. Students are expected to focus on their assignment and maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning. Both a behavior and social contract is agreed upon and signed by each participant. For the sake of all participants- disruptive behavior, the use of cell phones, music players, unapproved surfing of the internet etc is not allowed. The student should consider it a privilege to be enrolled in Credit Recovery since it provides him/her with the opportunity to "catch up". In summary, I strive to maintain a welcoming and positive environment in which each student looks forward to coming to class and achieving success.
